Off-road motorcycle riding has never been more popular in the United States as it is now, with more motorcycle enthusiasts buying dual-sport motorcycles, dirt bikes, and adventure motorcycles. Taking heed of this new trend, the American Motorcycle Association (AMA) has announced a National Dual-Sport series. Though there are several other dirt bike races that take place in the United States on a yearly or seasonal basis, the National Dual-Sport series by AMA will allow racers to ride on narrow solo off-road trails aboard their street-legal off-road-capable two-wheelers. All the track trails are connected by scenic back roads through the countryside.
The series includes two-day racing events that are organized across the United States. Designed for the most incredible adrenaline-fueled adventure and unforgettable off-road riding experience, this racing series includes plenty of daunting trails that are properly marked and meticulously designed. The first AMA National Dual-Sport series event was successfully held in March 2024. The second event is expected to take place in November 2024.
The AMA National Dual-Sport racing series is aimed at motorcycles specifically designed for hardcore off-road riding, especially dual-sport bikes. Therefore, the motorcycles used in the racing event are expected to be nimble, lightweight, and capable of traversing difficult off-road terrain. On the other hand, motorcyclists who ride fully-decked heavy adventure motorcycles are encouraged to participate in the Adventure Riding Series by AMA instead of the Dual-Sport series. However, it is still expected that there will be appearances of adventure motorcycles in the Dual-Sport series and vice versa.
For both national-level AMA off-road racing events, AMA membership is mandatory. Participants can also purchase a single-race pass for 20 U.S. dollars. These passes are only available for purchase at the respective event location. Interested candidates who want to contest in all races can purchase full membership for 49 U.S. dollars online or at the venue.
AMA National Dual-Sport Series Sponsors
The AMA National Dual-Sport racing series is supported by Beta USA. The sponsor has also provided a motorcycle that will be awarded to a lucky racer at the end of the racing event. All the contestants of this racing event are directly eligible for this award or sweepstake, provided they are the residents of the United States and 18 years of age or older.
