1. A BRIEF HISTORY OF YAMAHA V-STAR 1300 TOURER
The Yamaha V-Star 1300 Tourer was launched by Yamaha in 2007 to fill the gap left behind in the Star motorcycles series due to the departure of the V-Star 1100.
Yamaha produced the V-Star 1300 in three different versions: Standard, Tourer, and Deluxe. However, it was discontinued in 2018.
1.1 THE STAR SERIES
Yamaha introduced the Star Motorcycles to the United States in 1994 as a new stand-alone brand for their cruiser bikes.
The Star lineup has eight different model families so far and a total of 22 different bikes, ranging from the little V-Star 250 to the powerful V-Star 1300.
1.2 THE YAMAHA V-STAR 1300 TOURER
The Yamaha V-Star 1300 Tourer debuted in 2007 along with the standard version of the V-Star 1300. This bike had a unique design, being the only Yamaha bike to feature a liquid-cooled V-twin engine in the Star motorcycle lineup. The V-Star 1300 Tourer also carried a standard fuel injection and a two-into-one exhaust system, unlike the V-Star 1100.
Both the Standard and Tourer variants of the V-Star 1300 were equipped with identical features, including a fuel-injected 1304cc V-twin engine that produced 72 horsepower and 110.9 Nm of torque.
The main difference between the Tourer and Standard versions of the V-Star 1300 was that the Tourer came with standard touring features, including the windshield, a lockable quick-release saddlebag, and a passenger backrest.
1.3 YAMAHA V-STAR 1300 TOURER (2007-2010)
The launch of the 2007 Yamaha V-Star 1300 Tourer marked the introduction of a mid-size, classic-style Star motorcycle. Yamaha made sure that this bike was ready to go for long expeditions thanks to its fundamental touring add-ons.
The 1304cc V-twin engine had tons of power and torque which made for an enjoyable riding experience, whether it be daily commutes or long highway trips. The touring add-ons can also be easily removed for a solo ride on this powerful cruiser.
In 2008, the OHC (Overhead Cams) in the fuel control was replaced by the SOHC (Single Overhead Camshaft). The 2009 V-Star 1300 Tourer followed the same specs.
The new features for the 2010 V-Star 1300 Tourer improved the style and comfort.
