Indian Scout Series Crash Bars

When cruising on your Indian Scout, there are few other vehicles that can match your bike’s maneuverability and speed. However, you never know what you may encounter around the next corner or stoplight. You may not see an incoming vehicle or another driver may not see you coming until it is too late. When a bike is hit, one of the parts you cannot afford to lose or may be too expensive to repair is your bike’s engine. If you want to help better protect your bike’s engine, you may benefit from getting Indian Scout crash bars. Whether you prefer to call them crash cages or engine guards, these aftermarket motorcycle parts are an add-on that not only revamps your bike’s overall look, but also offers extra protection for the frame, engine, and other parts. The engine guards for Indian Scout are created from high-quality stainless metal bars covered with a rustproof coating. The coating is covered in a black or chrome paint job. Besides giving the crash bars aesthetic appeal, the paint also protects from rain and debris. This ensures the surface does not become corroded or scratched easily when traveling on the road.

Though the main function of the crash bars is to repel any incoming hazards about to hit the engine, these aftermarket parts can also protect your legs as well. You may also notice there is a pair of rubber pegs equally spaced apart. You can rest your feet atop them in case you don’t like using the stock footrests on your bike. During installation, you will attach the bike underneath the front fork and behind the engine using the built-in mounting points on the crash cages. When securely fastened, the crash bars will be at a slight angle but will remain parallel to the engine. You will be able to make use of the free mounting bolts, nuts, and spacers included with the purchase to complete installation at home.
