The Swedish motorcycle manufacturer has finally increased competition in the naked-style roadster category. With several upgrades and more innovative styling, the 2025 Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 is finally introduced and ready to make the mark in the market.
1. The Background
1.1 The Unsuccessful Vitpilen 701 (2018-2021)
It is the successor of the Vitpilen 701, which was discontinued after an unsuccessful production run. However, the good news is that the company still has the Vitpilen 401 in the lineup for those looking for a beginner-friendly futuristic roadster.
The Swedish manufacturer introduced the Vitpilen 701 in 2015 at EICMA. The bike moved to production in 2018 and was made available to the public.
1.2 Recalled Due to Clutch Slave Cylinder Seal Problem
However, the bike didn’t sell well. It was also recalled due to having a problem with its clutch slave cylinder seal issue. All Vitpilen 701 models powered by the LC4 engine and produced between 2018 and 2020 were recalled.
1.3 The Rumored ‘Husqvarna Vitpilen 901’
The Vitpilen 701 was shortly discontinued after a production run of two and a half years in 2021. There were also some rumors that Vitpilen 901 would be introduced shortly. Also, according to some reports, the Svatpilen 901 prototype was seen.
1.4 It Is the Husqvarna Vitpilen 801
Finally, it is not the Vitpilen 901; the Husqvarna has gone with the Vitpilen and Svatpilen 801 as the successors. This is the first time Husqvarna has introduced the twin-cylinder engine on a Vitpilen or Svartpilen.
2. 2025 Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 First Look
The Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 looks super sporty, cool, and futuristic. It is also more trendy, edgy, and aggressive than the Vitpilen 401. The Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 is more than a roadster. The sharp linings make it look more like a perfect naked bike. This bike has a better-attacking angle with an elevated rear end.
The seat has been completely redesigned, with a separate two-piece saddle for the rider and passenger. The rider seat is also slightly inclined, allowing the rider to sit aggressively and closer to the gas tank.
The gas tank covers and design also have sharp edges and are slightly elevated from the rear side, as you would find on a sports bike. This design allows riders to sit in a sporty riding style for a more aggressive ride.
The engine and drive train are exposed, and the bodywork and covers are minimal to give it a rugged look.
The front end looks inspired by the new KTM naked bikes. The 2025 Vitpilen 801 has a ring-shaped extra LED tube and the main headlight installed in the center.
Overall, the 2025 Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 looks as lighter and more futuristic as the Vitpilen has been known since the first day.
3. 2025 Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 Engine
For those who don’t know, the KTM and Husqvarna are both owned by the Pierer and Bajaj Auto Groups. This is why there are so many similarities between these two bikes. Also, the 2025 Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 uses the same liquid-cooled 799 cc parallel-twin that powers the KTM 790 Duke.
The 799 cc parallel-twin engine delivers a horsepower of 103.26 hp and a torque of 87 Nm. The advanced engineering techniques and construction improve performance, durability, and efficiency.
4. 2025 Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 Frame
